The way I look at it, and project it to the Customer, is, that every, repeat each and every product in the Mutual Fund stable will reap profits. It’s only the time frame that is uncertain. The riskier the product, the longer the time line, and although it may go down tomorrow, dayafter or after 5 years, it will definitely make money. The trick is to accurately indicate what that time period is. Don’t sell a product saying it may go down. Fair enough it may go down in the short run, but in the long run it will definitely win. What that long run is, is the million dollar question, which only a successful advisor knows.

It is really an innovative Idea to use volatility as an asset class. Perhaps This tool can better fight to increase the ever decreasing returns from MF. However distributors first need to change thought for positive action from their clients.

You should also do something for compensating the distributor officially. you can just see how IRDA takes care of it's agents. they are not forced to demand from their clients . though still today they do not disclose what they get from insurance companies. Along with writing such eye opener for distributor please also write once in a while for SEBI and AMFI for opening their eyes as the Mf industry has also suffered due to lowering of commission. I have been selling this scheme ( to be true -- not selling but yes definetely recommending though not aggressively )But going through the article make me feel that I should be concentrating on this scheme aggresively .I would also be studying the VIX scheme and make that a part of my recommendation list. This is realy a good information being parted with the distributors who realy work very hard in such tough times and retain there clients through correct advise. Taking in terms of market by dec 2007 there was no such informative discuttion with the amcs and even the investors were having a good appetite as the mkts were providing returns of about 30 to 40% in very short& long span of time. But times have changed and now the investor have definitely understood the fair return on investments.Thanks to AMCs for providing such good information.

This is good useful information. But right information in right time is most important.so in my 6 years of experience no amc and no fund manager guided the advisor like this way. In case of your presentation dynamic defend with the nifty is confused why because no period is selected for the fund(i.e One year or 6 months) with the nifty. ICICI Pru is the only fund house which is having products catering to each & every class of investors & they keep on making their products more simpler & Investor friendly.It is better to do allocation in these kind of products instead of doing asset allocation & taking tactical calls.

Hi!! Very interesting presentation but many a times I'm preplexed and concerned about performance of equity funds even if they are balanced.My share with Ipru is great and I get good advices on the funds and my fear has also been addressed to at regular times.But I feel that the funds like Dynamic and few other like it are not good on the performance space(3 years to years)when compared to other diversified funds of Ipru.I feel there has to be a trade off of returns to get higher risk reward favour.

I do not know anything about volatility advantage fund. I have been selling Dynamic Plan for last so many years. I believe rather than advice of the distributor, role of the AMC is more important in developing products suitable to the market conditions and investor needs. The distributor role is to make aware the investor about these products and options. A very few number of distributors are/will be in a position to actually advise the customer in a way that customer has to agree and act upon. It requires more skill, knowledge and experience. There are many ( i think majority ) distributors who would sell a product based on the concept presented by the AMC and would hope that the performance of the scheme would be in line with the objectives of the scheme and if there are any difficulties then AMC on its own would take corrective measures at appropriate time. New products are launched to suit the present time situations of the market in debt or equity segments but what

Excellent article...Distributors & Investors just run on return and don't look to risk factors. But when investor is just starting the investments and has long term then dynamic is the best plan and only I Pru has been able to manage it in dynamic way. I have investments since inception and with discount NAV but still comfortable with the returns and investment management.

Mr.Raghav sir, i am totaly agreey with your viwe on past and present market condition and there reletive allocation ,but 1 question from my side why all this presentaion or suggestion have came after loss of investers money,on jan 2008 all AMC said sales only equity and i have sold your infra fund and result infrom of us.and now your RM said sales debt fund like as RSF,MYF STP and capital protation and some time say Dyanamic and VAP fund ,but as per your factsheet market overview said that market is Fair Value ,than why we not put maximum money in equity side?.

Though i am not sure whether the recommendation was PE based, but we do spend a lot of time in making investors understand volatility Risk based investment planning though prudent, client and advisors do miss out on cue, to stay with the Crowd. It needs amazing clarity, conviction and confidence to suggest plan and stay focussed on value investing !!
