It was on 4th Aug 13 i came to Hyderabad Airport after receiving felicitation in night of 3.08.13 in MFRT and I had massive heart attack at port I got saved as I had immediate extension of Apollo Hospital but my other friend Mr Agarwal of Raipur aged 42 yrs with family of 2 kids and wife who too had attack in MFRT function succumbed before reaching hospital. Life can be so ephemeral.Thanks to Reliance protecting this bereaved family with declaration to continue payment last trail then 24000/ forever to family in name of non stop trail. This gesture of Reliance is not only to be praised but worshiped. Reliance has proved protector of IFAs and we acknpwledge thanks to MR Sikka for such kind heart and why then our loyalty will remain for ever.
Yes, In this case also Reliance mf has pioneered a safety concept for retail IFAs . This move will go a long way in establishing a mutual beneficial relation among both. there are little bit concern which i have raised while discussion with them that is ; Active distributors should be considered who does some purchase txn not only SIP as somtime some IFA MAY NOT BE in position for doing SIP with Reliance mf schemes howsoever lump sum amount he may be investing in reliance mf schemes...

Most of all it was a GREAT IDEA to have invited the families of the IFAs who would see for themselves their futures being secured. Congratulations! to Mr. Vijay Devakath & his entire TEAM RMF at Hubli for having done a stupendous job. They also took care to put in some very good cultural events. Keep it up. Looking forward to more such intiatives from you all. While complimenting Mr. Himanshu Vyapak, Mr. Saugata Chaterjee ( whom I had the pleasure of meeting & interacting with personally in our very successful KAMFA convention at Bangalore on 22/09/2013) & their entire team at RMF may I humbly put forth a few points for their consideration.:- 1. Kindly look into the position of Senior IFAs who have legged it out all their lives against all odds to make all the AMCs what they are today in a significant measure. Please reconsider the ceiling limit of Age 70 at the upper band as a criteria for payment of non-stop trail. Many of them, I know are 65+ & are still legging it out.
At a time when an increasing number of IFAs are quitting the distribution business due to continuously decreasing returns/ emoluments by different measures adopted by the regulators, it is INDEED A GREAT & WELCOME STEP! by RMF. In fact Reliance has achieved 2 targets in one stone. First it has endeared the IFA"s to its AMC by securing the future of their families at a time when many were heading to a distress stiuation & Second it has taken a clear head start in getting increased business for itself. Agreed that there could be some pitfalls, but as we go forward issues that arise can be resolved through discussions & fair play. I am glad to pen here that the programme in my City, Hubli was very well attended by the IFA fraternity. It was after a fairly long time that we were able to see a good gathering with an extremely positive atmosphere & that was a Welcome change!

Dear IFA Partners, With reference to the queries raised on the requirement of 12 SIPs for Trail-Non Stop program, we would like to clarify that the requirement of 12 SIPs is an annual requirement. It can be done as 1 SIP Per Month or even 12 SIPs in 1 month. IFA should have done 12 SIPs in previous 12 months at any point in time. We hope this will clarify the doubts some IFA partners had. Unbelievably too good to be true ! Thinking out of box .... But there is something called performance in asset management business. If Reliance AMC works on this aspect, everything else will fall in place. We will procure more business, earn more and buy our own 1 crore term insurance. Now there will be copycat initiatives from other AMCs..... Therefore, an initiative like this should come from AMFI or other SROs with the cost being borne by the industry per se .
A great initiative.Seems that the IFA hard ie being recognised again and again.To get this benefit , one has to die following so many rules, like any other insurance!!!The probability of getting this benefit is very remote. While , they rightly call the IFAs as the un sung heros , they should not have brought this forth the direct plans in first place. The real help to IFAs would be 1) To implement higher fixed trail model.2) Do away with differential NAV for the direct and Channel modes.
An excellent plan for the benefit of IFAs. However if they really wanted to acknowledge the services of the IFA fraternity, why this 1 SIP a month clause. Fulfilling this criteria lifelong will be a very big challenge for more than 80% of the IFAs. Its more of a MARKETTING PLAN to sell their schemes. A far better move could have been offering a term insurance or a Medicalim for the IFA based on his AUM, without any criteria of future business

Only if a distributor dies then this plan comes into effect. How many distributors are dying below the age of 70 years every year? So, in reality how many IFAs families are going get benefited from this plan? How many IFAs can bring in one SIP per month for all the years of his/her work? There may be some years where getting business will be almost impossible as is happening currently. What happens if the death occurs in such a low market periods? What is the benefit of having this plan then? Once the IFA crosses 50 his/her mobility gets reduced and it will be very difficult for him/her to get a business of one SIP per month. How this plan is going to be useful to them? Giving a higher Trail only model to all the distributors would have helped IFAs build their own retirement corpus in a better manner.
this is very initiative offer from reliance amc. but i have one query that the distributor who is not directly enroll to reliance amc & doing business thru enroll with big distributor like N J INDIA, PRUDENT & SUCH OTHER BIG DISTRIBUTOR; does reliance amc will give benefits to those distributors after his/her sad demise. \ i want answer from reliance amc.
Heartening,pathbreaking,first in the world mutual fund initiative to provide a safety net to IFAs nominee in the event of having his or her productive life cut short ,leaving the family in distress.A huge recurring financial commitment very difficult to replicate and which only a company with the heart and purse can do it like Reliance which introduced it Big Bang Dhirubhai Ambhani style.They have proved that you can rely on Reliance for bonds that endure beyond IFAs life.However I have a suggestion to make.Instead of one SIP a month,make it one transaction a month so that lump sum investments are also brought into scope enabling wider participation.

You are right they have tried their best at direct and now trying to lure us. I am also doubtful about their intentions!
I know I may be odd man to say this but be careful of this move. Reliance is known for doing things ostensibly. For last so many years they have been ignoring retail business and running after big deals. They are also the worst pay master. Though this move apparently looks good but we have to cut through and see the real motive behind this. If they really care for IFA they should first bring transparent and competitive brokerages. Show consistent commitment to IFA. I have feeling that they feel left out and are trying last ditch effort to sneak in IFA systems just like our politician.

Its an welcome step by RMFs. As SBI is providing 4 lakhs insurance for the saving a/c holders by charging Rs.100/-. Why dont our AMCs charge the minimal amount and provide term insurance to the IFAs. By this way IFAs are protected to the maximum level.

In this regard I have a suggetion .Please rething about Eligibility Criteria which may be changed as 12 SIP in a year or 3 SIP in a quarter as one may fail to do 1 SIP every month due to to unavaidable resons like ill health or accident etc.

Truly laudable initiative...it shows that atleast there is some kind of recoginition to our profession.In the last 5 yrs there has only been negativity about MF profession..Income levels have dipped and this decision by Reliance will keep us motivated to the profession.
