On an average our Finance Minister has scored 7 plus out of 10 for presenting the budget without affecting majority. Certainly there is a strong case for raising the basic exemption to Rs.5 lakhs. There is also a need to exempt annuity from tax net. Further the non removal of service tax on life insurance premium is a great disappointment.
