However good the fund may be, can anybody guarantee, let alone returns, even principle repayment in Mutual Funds ? Mutual fund investors and advertisements should bear the caution - " Mutual Fund investments does not guarantee any returns or repayment of principle. Investors can invest at their own risk"

One size fits all is not the right approach. Consistency has to be tempered with resilience to fit the model to the risk profile of the investor. Once that is done the advisor has to be consistent with that investor.

Agree with all the story of Wisdom above. However , Did AMCs ever train IFAs properly ? Did you know about Asset allocation or SIP or STP , the benefits of LONG Term investing , Power of Compounding ? Did they ever tell you that you have to weed out the bad performing schemes quickly and shift to good schemes ? AMCs have to come together and train IFAs (especially New ones) properly.
