Dear All, The idea is to start discussions with fund houses for not deducting service tax from brokerages as once its paid to govt treasury there is no way to get refund and we are nearing year end ... we invite suggestion to take the same ahead .

Service tax is paid from IFA pocket is totally unjustified,... The IFA association should take strong step to fight for the rights and to provide justice...

Well, We all need to question, Different IFA Associations, all over India. What they are doing about the "Deduction of Service Tax " from IFA fees? Are the AMC''s paying back the Service tax collected along with Interest ? Do really AMC''s still want to horse ride on IFA''s ? Let us ask AMC''s to stop the Dualism, praise IFA''s contribution to MF industry on one end and hitting them on other end with Undue service Tax. The IFA Associations, have to write to AMFI, SEBI, and CBDT, asking them to provide Justice against this atrocity. This is a burning issue, IFAs are troubled / disturbed with already low commissions and new Rules and Regulations everyday. Atleast, let this one Issue be addressed at the earliest on PRiORITY / WAR FOOTING.

It doesn''t really matter. If at a future date it is decided that service tax was wrongly deducted, AMC''s have to refund the money back to us. As far as the Govt. is concerned, they would have received the tax and it wouldn''t matter who bore the tax. However I feel that the way AMFI, SEBI & the Govt. function, nothing is going to change. We IFA''s are a soft target for all of them, too few in number and without cohesion.
