A national distributor opened a new branch office and all my clients received a letter by post inviting them for inauguration and avail of their services. How could this entity get all the detailed addresses when none of them is having any business with them. This is a leakage of information of the customer and breaches the privacy and confidentiality of the investors. Please advise me if anyone knows how this information is sourced by them. Are any R&T agents involved in this? Taking into consideration the recent scam disclosed in Sharepro, there is a possibility of happening such things in any other entity also. Today they are getting addresses only, tomorrow they may capture other investments details without any knowledge of the original advisor/distributor and he may face the difficulties in his business and relations with his clients.

Sir This is a very valid concern. Data integrity is a big challenge and a ticking time bomb. In a digital world, all our investors will be reached in some form or the other. We need to ensure a splendid investor experience along with trust, so they don''t get swayed by these invites. At the same time authorities should take this up with the R&T agents and enforce systems to prevent this in the future.
