on the day of crash of the last month where midcap down aprx 3.5%. it recovered in the next few days. some midcap schemes lost 4% plus in a single day. now it is evident that midcap rally is not quite rational and it may reverse. should schemes go overboard in managing risk? will common investor digest big loss, if the crash continues for some time? agreed that the mid/small cap is high risk/high gain equation. but in many such schemes,the risk is better controlled. its open secret that next qurater/half year may be very volatile. in this backdrop, if some prudence is not applied, dear retails investor will go away again and calling back will not be easy. chasing momentum should not be the only mantra always.
