Is doing business through National Distributor better??

Hi,

I do my Mutual Fund business through NJ India.

The reason I chose NJ India because when I started this Advisory business, I was a single man army. I myself was the Manager and I myself was the clerk.

NJ India through its single window appealed very strongly to me, as I did not need to go to multiple AMCs and also I had a dedicated Relationship Manager assigned to me.

And as my business improved, this facility only helped more and more as my AUM shot up and so did my number of clients.

But, strangely, even as my income did go up, I observed that none of the AMC people knew even as I did more that 1l sip with them.

It took time for me to understand that for these AMCs, they dont know Srikanth Matrubai but know only NJ India.

And, I crave for recognition which I would have got if I had done DIRECTLY.

What is your view??

Should I slowly move DIRECT or stick to NJ India?

Being an single person you cannot afford the investors service like statements,visiting R&Ts etc.You are already benefited by services of your service providers.If you are not satisfied with their services you can look for direct where it needs extra effort.analyse & take a decision.

dear , go directly if u have to go in long run in this buisness bcoz nj will earn the trail etc as on day u r not going to pay the charges etc, moreover the subsequent direct application of NFO etc will be forwarded through nj code by amc not yours & lots of training portion ,recognizing etc will also loosed by you

This is a dilemma faced by many. The benefits like back office management, innovative product reports etc are there and you get income also but recognition from AMCs is not there as mentioned by you. There must be some sort of recognition from the ND. If you are able to do your business smoothly and getting your upfront and trail also from the ND and your customers are recognizing you and your ND is not directly contacting the customers or passing on the information to other distributors I think this is ok because AMC recognition is temporary till you have certain AUM with a particular AMC. But with ND your total business count. If you can install the systems, office, staff and afford to deal with numerous AMCs then you should think about it. Finally after earning money a man needs recognition but I think money will last with you AMC recognition will not last and nobody out there values it.
