I have come across a practical difficulty with KYC related issues for :
1. Transmission of units to Nominee and
2. Minor to Major change of status.
For both above, when the Nominee and Minor are not KYC Compliant (which is usually the case) and there are multiple folios of funds which they inherit it is obviously only to one folio with an AMC that one submits their KYC application but most of the AMCs (barring UTI AMC) do not provide an instant acknowledgement or screen shot of the KYC status which can be submitted to the remaining AMCs as a copy to prove to them that the Nominee's or Major's KYC application is in process. There is always the danger that for some reason if the KYC application is not processed by the end of the same day, the Transmission / Status Change application with the other AMCs will be rejected due to non-submission of KYC.
AMFI needs to think about this and provide a simple solution so that IFAs can rest assured that their clients' service requests will be carried out smoothly with all AMCs if the documentation is in order.
More importantly if UTI AMC can provide an acknowledgement of a screen shot within 5-10 minutes of submission of KYC application, I see no reason why the other AMCs cannot or refuse to provide any such documentation as they all use the same or similar KYC compliance software.
